Construction Inspector

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Inspector – Project Owner
representative to oversee construction project Brooklyn Canada, ensuring they meet all safety,
quality, and design standards. And assist with budgeting, procurement and planning of the project
in Bowen Island, BC. In this vital role, you will conduct thorough inspections, verify compliance with
blueprints and schematics, and monitor construction activities to uphold the highest standards of
excellence. Your expertise will also coordinate activities among owner-stakeholders, contractors,
trades, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to plans,
    blueprints, schematics, and safety protocols.
  • Collect detailed data during site visits, documenting progress, deficiencies, and
    compliance issues accurately.
  • Analyze inspection findings to identify potential risks or deviations from project
    specifications and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure quality control standards are maintained
    throughout all phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues promptly
    and maintain project timelines.
  • Review blueprints and schematics thoroughly to understand design intent and ensure
    proper implementation on-site.
  • Conduct regular site audits and prepare detailed reports highlighting inspection results,
    observations, and recommendations for improvements.
    Project Inspection – Owner Representation: Act as the authorized representative of the owner on
    all projects. Coordinate and inspect project activities including timelines, budgets, contractor
    selection, permitting, and quality control. Prepare progress reports and ensure projects are
    delivered on time and within budget. Serve as the primary liaison between the owner, contractors,
    and stakeholders.
    Kinetic Art Installation Oversight: Coordinate and inspect the assembly, disassembly,
    maintenance, and repair of kinetic art installations. Liaise with technical specialists to diagnose
    issues, source replacement parts, and schedule repairs. Ensure minimal operational disruption
    during maintenance activities.
    Experience
  • Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of building processes, safety
    standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in construction inspection or related roles involving data collection
    and analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project
    specifications accurately.
  • Experience in performing quality control checks across various stages of construction
    projects.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills for reporting
    findings clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and best practices within the construction
    industry is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Indonesian language is highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated project coordination and owner representation experience
  • Technical aptitude or experience overseeing mechanical/electronic installations is an asset
  • Photography skill is an asset for documentation and content creation

  • Bowen Island, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
